About CFC
What if church could be more?
Simpler. More personal. More centered on Jesus, His Word, and life together.
Our identity
An independent
Christian church.
Under Christ alone
CFC has no affiliation with any outside governing denomination or church authority. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, and Scripture is our final authority for faith and practice.
Church can be simpler. Less about labels, traditions, and arguments, and more about knowing Jesus, learning His Word, and following Him together. That is what Covenant Foundations Church is seeking to become.
We believe Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, and Scripture is our final authority for faith and practice. Where Scripture speaks clearly, we want to speak clearly. Where faithful Christians can disagree without denying the Gospel or abandoning biblical truth, we do not want those differences to become walls between believers.
A church taking root
CFC is beginning with a simple Bible study and a desire to grow into a church built around relationships, discipleship, and participation. We are seeking to become a church built around small groups, a model often called a cell church. Instead of building a large church first and then trying to add small groups later, we want small groups to be a primary part of church life from the beginning.
That is much closer to the pattern we see in the early church. The first Christians did not have websites, livestreams, social media, cars, airplanes, or modern communication, yet the church spread with remarkable speed. Ordinary men and women had encountered the living Christ, and they told other people about Him.
They gathered in homes, opened Scripture together, prayed, shared meals, cared for one another, carried one another’s burdens, and invited others into the life they had found in Christ. The church grew through relationships, testimony, discipleship, and shared life. That is the kind of church life we want to recover.
Don’t just come and see. Come and participate
At CFC, we want people to do more than attend. We want them to participate. We do not believe church was meant to be something people simply watch. It is not a performance for a crowd. It is the gathered life of God’s people, and everyone has a part to play.
That means opening Scripture together, asking questions, praying for one another, serving, sharing meals, encouraging each other, using our gifts, and growing as disciples of Jesus. Our Growth Groups will be the main place where that kind of life happens. They will be small enough for people to actually know one another and walk through life together.
There will also be times when the groups come together as one church to worship, hear the Word, share Communion, and celebrate what God is doing. The larger gathering reminds us that we are one church. The smaller gathering helps us actually live like one.
Conviction with grace
We take the Gospel, holiness, repentance, obedience, and the clear teaching of Scripture seriously. At the same time, we recognize that faithful Christians have disagreed for generations about some secondary questions. We can study those things honestly without allowing them to become tests of our fellowship.
Where Scripture speaks clearly, we follow it. Where Scripture leaves room for faithful believers to disagree, we want to leave that room open. That does not mean anything goes. It simply means we do not want secondary questions to become tests of Christian fellowship.
We want to keep the main thing the main thing.
A place to encounter the Living God
At the end of the day, we want CFC to be a place where unnecessary religious weight can fall away. A place where Jesus is central, Scripture is opened, people are known, disciples are made, and questions are welcome.
We want to be a church where people can come ready to meet the living God and follow Jesus faithfully without being forced into a man-made mold.
Jesus at the center. His Word before us. His people walking together.
That is the church we are seeking to build.
